In English, we read a story entitled 'The Merci Train' by Rita Markel. The Merci Train was a gift to the people of the US from the people of France, given in appreciation for the Friendship Food Train that Americans had sent to war-torn Europe in 1947. The train consisted of 49 WWI era boxcars. Each car was filled with hundreds of gifts. We talked about the author's purpose and how the way an author writes can effect what the reader can get out of the story.

In Art, our class completed a St. Patrick's Day activity where they had to describe why they felt they were lucky. The answers were inspiring and thought provoking!

Today we worked on our newspaper #WeekInReview. Stay tuned for more of our awesome work on Friday!
