In Current Events we read an article from NewsEla NFL owners love LA, but for a different game than football. Los Angeles hasn't had a pro football team since 1994. In English we continued reading excerpts and went with the primary source of Zlata's Journal by Zlata Filipovic. She is a founding member of NYPAW (Network of Young People Affected by War). She has spoken extensively at schools and universities around the world on issues of children in conflict. She was a member of the UNESCO Jury for the Prize for Children and Young People's Literature for Tolerance.
