Notes:

In Current Events we read an article from Dogo News entitled "No Pets Left Behind" In Colorado Flood Rescue Efforts. They say that when it rains, it pours - This is something Colorado residents can relate to quite literally, given the recent torrential rains that began with just an inch in Boulder on September 1st and then quickly escalated to a record 9.08 inches on September 12th, nearly double the city's previous one-day record and about half of what it gets annually!

In Career Development, we learned about the career of working as United States Customs officer. We talked about the importance of checking what comes in and out of the country. Smugglers try to bring illegal items into the US every day. People who travel to foreign countries sometimes try to avoid paying duty taxes on items they purchase on vacation. Some people try to enter our country illegally. Who prevents these things from happening? This is the job of US Customs Inspectors!
