In Current Events we read an article entitled NYC Marathon Returns from Time For Kids. Athletes from around the world hit the ground running for the New York
City Marathon on Sunday, November 3. This is the first time in more than
a year that runners have raced through the five boroughs. Last year’s
marathon was canceled in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. This year, a
record 50,740 runners took part in the celebrated 26.2-mile race.
The Science Fair projects were shared during school! I hope to see most of you tonight at the Science Fair from 6-9 PM!
In Current Events we read an article entitled Ahhh! It's Time To Fall Back. A little worn out after all the Halloween festivities? Then you are in luck, because this weekend it's time to 'Fall Back', which means that at 2 am on Sunday, November 3rd, most Americans will add an extra hour to their day, by moving the clocks back. This age-old tradition
that goes all the way back to World War One, is observed in other parts
of the world too - However the dates differ, with most changing their
clocks about a month earlier. Check out the article here:

In Science, we discussed how Solar Cells work. Solar energy is the most renewable form of energy of all. There is more solar energy coming at us than we will ever need. The problem, of course, is finding ways to capture and use that energy.
Tomorrow (11/7/13) is the Science Fair. It is from 6 to 9 PM. Come check out our class project entitled "Using Your Noodle". We tested the question: Can weak materials be made strong through structural engineering? One of our students (Noah) did a project on Vortex Generator and demonstrated in class today! I will try and post the video up on the blog.
Science Fair is on November 7th. Our experiment is Spaghetti and Marshmallows. The question is can weak materials be made strong through structural engineering?
The 1st Quarter Ends on 11/12/13. Keep up the great work
