Study for Spelling Test (Unit 19) on Monday
Notes:
The Winter Show is Friday 2/7/14. Jillian will be performing "Let It Go" from the Frozen soundtrack. This song ties to the Gersh Value, growth and improvement are always possible! Her classmates will be rooting her on and helping with some jobs during that day like handing out programs or selling some food. Javier will be reading an introduction with facts for one of the acts!

Basket Money:
We are putting together a Dessert
themed basket to auction off at the Winter Show. If you could send your
child in with 5 dollars or bring some dessert accessories in, that
would be appreciated. We would need it by the end of this week!

The anticipation is over! This week the amazingly bright minds in Mr. Giangaspro and Mr. Cusimano's room came together to bring you the world of Current Events through their eyes. Here is some more background information.
IAIC elementary and middle school have come together to
create a school newspaper. Our newspaper
titled “#WeekinReview” will make its debut January 31st, 2014. The newspaper
will consist of three pages highlighting current events locally and from around
the world. The students will work together to create, edit and publish a
specific section of the newspaper.
The sections will include topics such as science, sports, politics and technology. There will be a special section each week featuring an interview with a Gersh Academy staff member. The newspaper was created to increase social skills through group work. The collaboration between Mr. Cusimano and Mr. Giangaspro’s classes will help these students grow socially. #WeekinReview will also help spread awareness of important topics to friends and family. It will model appropriate conversation topics and cultural discussions. By maintaining a consistent understanding of news and how to interpret its importance, this newspaper is fostering teamwork and friendship among peers.

The articles included
some Super Bowl hype, an interview with Ms. Kash, an update from our
Dinonet crew, an Olympics update from Sochi and much, much more!
Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Our classes worked so hard on
this! If you see them in the hallway, please pass along your feelings to
our field reporters and article writers. Look out for our next edition
on February 7th, 2014.
Sincerely,
#WeekInReview crew
